Terms of sale
Version 2026-10-28. This is the version you accept at checkout, and the version recorded on your order.
1. Who the parties are
The seller is Archi Systems AS, a company registered in Norway, organisation number 916 683 332, VAT number NO 916 683 332 MVA, Gustav Vigelands vei 36, 0274 Oslo, Norway. Klarseal is a brand of Archi Systems AS. In these terms “we” and “us” mean Archi Systems AS.
The buyer is the business named in the order (“you”). The person placing the order confirms that they are entitled to do so on its behalf.
2. Businesses only
We sell only to businesses. By ordering you confirm that you are buying for a business, in the course of that business, and not as a consumer. Consumer protection rules, including the consumer right of withdrawal, therefore do not apply to an order placed with us.
You give us the business’s legal name and, where checkout asks for it, its registration or VAT number. EU businesses must give a VAT number that validates in the EU’s VIES system. EV certificates are only for companies, not for sole traders.
3. What you are buying
You are buying a one-year Certum Standard Code Signing in the Cloud or Certum EV Code Signing in the Cloud certificate, as chosen at checkout.
Certificates are issued by Certum (Asseco Data Systems S.A.). Certum performs all identity validation and decides whether a certificate is issued. We take the order, the payment and the invoice, send the application to Certum and show you which step is outstanding. We cannot make validation faster, and we cannot guarantee that Certum will issue a certificate.
The certificate names your business by its legal name, as shown on the review step before you pay. The private key is generated inside Certum’s hardware security module and stays there; our process is built so that we never hold it. You control access to signing through your SimplySign account.
4. How an order is made
- You choose the product, enter your company and the certificate holder, review the order and accept these terms, Certum’s terms (section 9) and our privacy notice.
- When you select Pay we create the order and Mollie, our payment provider, takes the payment.
- The contract is made when Mollie confirms your payment. We then issue the invoice.
- Before we send the application to Certum we check it, and a person may review it. We may decline an order at that point, for example if the company details cannot be confirmed or section 11 applies. If we decline, we refund the full amount.
5. Prices and tax
Prices are net of tax. The price shown on the review step at checkout is the price you pay. A later change to our prices does not affect an order already placed.
- Norway: prices in NOK. 25 % MVA is added, for businesses too, because we are a Norwegian company.
- Every other country we sell to: prices in EUR, with no Norwegian VAT. The sale is zero-rated under the Norwegian VAT Act (merverdiavgiftsloven) § 6-22, and you account for any VAT or similar tax in your own country. For EU businesses this is the reverse-charge rule, and the invoice says so.
6. Payment
Payment is due in full when you order and is made through Mollie, using a method offered on Mollie’s payment page. Your payment details are entered on Mollie’s systems, not ours.
7. Issuance and what we need from you
Delivery is Certum issuing the certificate to the SimplySign account you named at checkout. Validation is done by Certum, and how fast it goes depends mostly on how quickly you supply what it asks for. We do not promise an issuance date, and a delay is not in itself a ground for a refund.
What is yours to do:
- Give correct details. The company, the certificate holder and the SimplySign login email must be right. Certum installs the certificate on the account belonging to that email.
- Complete the identity check. Certum invites the certificate holder to an identity check. Any documents Certum asks for go directly to Certum, not to us.
- Provide an authorisation if one is needed. When the holder is not registered as entitled to represent the business, Certum needs a document showing the holder is authorised.
- Activate SimplySign. After issuance Certum sends emails with an activation link and code. You activate the SimplySign mobile app with them to reach the certificate.
- Keep access safe. Protect your SimplySign login and devices, and ask for revocation (section 9) if you think someone else has gained access.
8. Cancellation and refunds
If the certificate is not issued, you get the full amount back, MVA included: when you cancel before issuance, we decline the order (section 4), Certum declines it, or validation is not completed. After 90 days without validation progress we may close and refund it, telling you first.
To cancel, email support@klarseal.com with your order number. We start the refund within 10 working days of the order ending, through Mollie, with a credit memo against the invoice.
An issued certificate is not refunded, even if issued before we could stop it. Revocation (section 9) brings no refund unless we caused it. Wrong details through our mistake, reported within 30 days of issuance, are corrected free.
There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically. A renewal is a new order under the terms current at the time.
9. Certum’s terms and revocation
At checkout you accept, as the certificate’s subscriber, Certum’s Terms of Use for non-qualified certificates (version 1.4, valid from 1 September 2025) and confirm you have read the revocation rules in chapter 4.9.1 of Certum’s Certification Practice Statement (version 8.5, valid from 14 September 2026):
Those documents govern the certificate itself: how you may use it, your duties as subscriber, when it must be revoked and Certum’s own liability to you. Certum may revoke a certificate on the grounds they set out. You must ask for revocation when they require it, for example if the details in the certificate are no longer true or access to the key may be compromised. Revocation is requested under Certum’s procedure; we will help you with it.
10. Liability
Our total liability for an order is limited to the price you paid for that order.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, revenue or business, lost data, the cost of re-signing or redistributing software, or loss caused by signatures or software that stop being accepted.
We are not liable for Certum’s decisions or services, including validation outcomes, the time Certum takes, revocation by Certum, or the availability of SimplySign. Certum’s liability to you is governed by Certum’s terms (section 9). Nor are we liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
These limits do not apply where the law does not allow liability to be limited, such as for loss caused intentionally or by gross negligence.
11. Sanctions
We do not sell to businesses established in Russia, Belarus or North Korea, or to anyone subject to sanctions that apply to us. We may decline or cancel an order to comply with sanctions or export rules. Where the law allows, we then refund the full amount.
12. Personal data
We process the personal data in an order as described in our privacy notice. Certum processes the data it needs for validation and issuance under its own policies, as a separate controller.
13. Law and disputes
These terms and every order under them are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes go to Oslo tingrett (Oslo District Court), Norway, as the court of first instance.
14. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. A change applies to orders placed after it is published here, with a new version and date at the top. An order is governed by the version you accepted at checkout.
15. Contact
Questions about an order: support@klarseal.com. Invoices and payments: billing@klarseal.com. Our company details are on the imprint.
